Orlando Medical Institute (OMI) is proud to announce that, effective July 7th, 2025, John Gibson has been appointed Director of Continuing Education, bringing extensive expertise in healthcare education and leadership to the role. Gibson joins OMI to drive strategic initiatives that advance the institute’s mission: providing accessible, high-quality education that saves lives.

In his new role, Gibson oversees OMI’s comprehensive Continuing Education portfolio, including nationally recognized courses such as AHA (BLS, ACLS, PALS), IV Therapy, ECG/EKG, Advanced Airway, NREMT Reviews, CCP-C Prep, and NAEMT courses (TECC, PHTLS). Beyond program oversight, he leads instructor training, partnership expansion with hospitals and first responder agencies, and the development of innovative, cost-effective models that maintain rigorous academic quality.
Since assuming the position, Gibson has already spearheaded several key initiatives:
- Creation of structured pathways for instructors to enhance training effectiveness and professional development.
- Establishment of new clinical partnerships, expanding access to hands-on learning and practical experience.
- Implementation of a sustainable revenue model across all OMI partner campuses, ensuring affordability while maintaining high standards of education.
“Our mission is clear,” said Gibson. “We aim to make lifesaving education available on every campus and partner training site, delivering the same level of quality you’d expect at a major medical center.”
OMI welcomes John Gibson and looks forward to leveraging his vision, innovation, and leadership to further solidify the institute’s position as the premier training ground for rapid-response heroes.
